Art and Found day 2024

2024 was the first year I took part in Art & Found Day. Art & Found Day is a beautiful initiative all about sharing creativity with the local community.

The concept was born seven years ago in Toronto and now takes place all over the world.

I left one of my original paintings hidden in my local community ready for someone to discover it. No gallery walls, no price tag – just a small gift of art waiting to brighten someones day.

There’s something really special about releasing a piece of your work into the world like that. Art is usually something we carefully curate, exhibit or sell but this was different. It was about connection, surprise and the simple joy of giving. The idea that someone might stumble across it on an ordinary day and feel happy, inspired, uplifted or curious makes me smile. Art has the power to spark emotion, create conversation and remind us that creativity belongs everywhere.

A really lovely family found my artwork and reached out to me to thank me and tell me how much they loved the piece. Their young sone even shared some of his own amazing artwork with me and this meant so much that he was inspired by my gift.

Sharing the love for art in tis way felt incredibly meaningful and I cant wait to take part again.
